Abstract: This Sun BluePrints article demonstrates how the combination of the Solaris 10 Operating System and the UltraSPARC T1 and T2 processors can be used in a secure Web site. It provides a brief overview of SSL technology, as well as an introduction to the Solaris Cryptographic Framework. The remainder of the document describes how these cryptographic features can be configured and used by common security applications, such as Apache, the Sun Java System Web Server, and secure Java technology applications. An earlier version of this Sun BluePrints article detailed the cryptographic capabilities of the UltraSPARC T1 processor. This updated version includes discussions of the new cryptographic features of the UltraSPARC T2 processor.
