Abstract: This presentation discusses the various ways that multi-threaded and multi-core chips affect system performance, and describes both current and future Solaris features designed to optimize performance for these architectures.
Bio: Bart Smaalders is the technical lead for the Solaris kernel performance group. He has worked on the performance of window systems and clustering in addition to the kernel. He is the co-author of Programming with Threads with Steve Kleiman and Devang Shah.
