Sun Microsystems Inc. said it will begin selling chips it designs to other companies and not just use them for its own server systems.

One difference now, said CEO Jonathan Schwartz, is
that Sun's latest Sparc chips can be used for networking devices and
other products that won't directly compete with Sun's servers.
