Just before the break, I got the opportunity to take part in a nettalk on the OpenSPARC initiative. I was talking about the CoolTools part of the initiative.
I hugely enjoyed the experience, we were locked up in a conference
room for a couple of hours together with a set of microphones, and
rather strangely a (digital) stereo tape recorder - I'd expected them
to use a multitrack recorder. However, the set up was such that Fadi
(who was asking the questions) got one channel, and the person
answering got the other.
Anyway, most of what I talked about was recorded on the first take,
a couple of the answers I got supremely tongue-tied, so I had to try
them again. The tapes were then dragged off for post-production
editing, the 'er...' filtering appears to have left a few of mine in,
so goodness knows how many were there to begin with. They also added a
transcript, which appears a bit 'funky' in places (must be the accent
;).
I'm expecting a follow up ExpertExchange, which is a live Q&A, to be scheduled soon, so watch out for that.
